Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to all your queries and discover how Amaya can enhance your self-care routine.
WHY DOES IT MATTER?
Why should I care about the quality of my shower water?
Unfiltered water can contain chlorine, heavy metals (such as magnesium, calcium, copper, lead, arsenic), insect eggs, rust from aging infrastructure, and other contaminants that may harm your skin and hair. These impurities can lead to issues such as dry skin, acne, dandruff, and damaged hair. Using a filtered showerhead helps remove these harmful substances, promoting healthier skin and hair.
Why is it important to understand the difference between hard and soft water?
Hard water contains high levels of dissolved minerals like calcium and magnesium, which can lead to issues such as soap scum, dull-looking clothes, and residue on dishes. Soft water has been treated to remove these minerals, leaving primarily sodium ions. Rainwater is naturally soft, but as it travels through the ground, it accumulates minerals, becoming hard. The Amaya Filtered Showerhead uses advanced filtration media, including KDF-55 and Calcium Sulfite, to effectively remove chlorine and heavy metals, providing you with cleaner, softer water.
Why should contaminants be filtered out of shower water?
Our skin is our body's largest organ, absorbing water like a sponge every time we shower. Showering in unclean water can lead to premature aging, dry skin, acne, dandruff, psoriasis, and damaged hair. On the other hand, showering in clean, filtered water is essential for maintaining healthier skin, stronger hair, and overall well-being.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
How does the Amaya Filtered Showerhead work?
The Amaya Filtered Showerhead uses advanced filtration technology to remove chlorine, heavy metals, and other impurities from your shower water. This ensures that the water you use is clean and safe for your skin and hair.
How was the effectiveness of the Amaya Filtered Showerhead tested?
We conducted independent third-party tests to verify that our showerhead removes 99.9% of lead, 99% of chlorine, 98.5% Chloramine, and Class II particles as small as 0.001 mm throughout the filter's six-month lifespan, assuming regular daily use by one person. This performance exceeds standard certifications, ensuring you receive high-quality filtration.
How often should I replace the filter in the Amaya Showerhead?
Depending on your water usage, the filter may last up to 6 months, but replacing it every 3 months is recommended for optimal performance and contaminant removal.
EASY TO USE?
Is the Amaya Filtered Showerhead easy to install?
Absolutely. In four easy steps:

WHAT ELSE?
Is our skin really our largest organ?
Yes, the skin is the body's largest organ, making it crucial to ensure it absorbs clean, contaminant-free water for optimal health and well-being.
Is there an optimal temperature for showering?
Dermatologists typically recommend showering at temperatures between 98°F to 101°F. However, cold showers can also offer benefits like improved circulation. Choose the temperature that best suits your comfort and health needs.

Does water quality affect the taste of food?
Yes, the mineral content in water can influence the taste and texture of certain foods. For example, the water of Amritsar, Punjab is believed to contribute to the city's renowned breads. However, while these minerals may benefit baking, they are not ideal for your skin and hair. It's best to use filtered water for personal care and leave the unfiltered water to the bakers.
We hope this helps you understand the importance of water quality and how Amaya's Filtered Showerhead can enhance your daily routine.
